Our freight charges are based on standard delivery conditions, which assume efficient unloading at the delivery location. Delivery waiting time fees are applied when delays at the delivery site prevent the driver from completing their schedule as planned. Delivering large, bulky office furniture requires significant coordination, and delays impact not only your delivery but also others scheduled in the run.
Things that may cause a waiting time fee to be charged include but are not limited to:
- Delays in Accessing the Delivery Location: If the driver must wait for access to gates, loading docks, or lifts.
- Site Unavailability: If no one is available to receive the delivery or provide necessary instructions, causing the driver to wait.
- Extended Time On-Site: Unpacking, additional requests, or unexpected obstacles requiring the driver to spend more time than allocated at the location.
Freight companies charge waiting time fees to account for the driver’s time, the delay’s impact on subsequent deliveries, and any logistical adjustments required. To maintain our competitive pricing, these costs are passed on to the customer when incurred.
